Over 5,000 trees already planted

- and there are more planned! After Iserlohn and Osterholz-Scharmbeck, the third KIRCHHOFF Culture Life tree planting campaign took place in Attendorn on November 21. Originally, the event was planned as an employee campaign. However, due to the COVID-19 partial lockdown in the state, the local tree nursery Küch had to take over the planting of 1785 forest plants in the city forest of Attendorn.

In the presence of Christian Pospischil, mayor of the city of Attendorn, was the chairman of the advisory board of the KIRCHHOFF Group Arndt G. Kirchhoff, the managing director of KIRCHHOFF Automotive Deutschland GmbH Thorsten Cramer, and the initiator of the project Thomas Kirchhoff (cultural representative of the KIRCHHOFF Group). Altogether they were witness to trees planted for the future, which contribute to the important climate change efforts in todays world. Among them are 800 red beeches, 200 common oaks, 200 hornbeams, 100 winter lime trees, 400 sycamore maples and 50 Californian sequoias. Planting took place along the L697 from Attendorn to Helden, branch Berlinghausen.

Mayor Christian Pospischil and Head of Department Ludger Gabriel from the Attendorn city administration, were enthusiastic about this sustainable idea and were delighted with the growth of 1785 trees in the Attendorn city forest: "The effects of climate change as well as the results of successful protection measures and future-oriented investments can be directly felt and experienced, especially by the municipalities. We thank the KIRCHHOFF Group for this valuable contribution to climate and environmental protection."

Gradually, 1785 trees are being planted at almost all KIRCHHOFF Group locations worldwide. The number of trees is based on the year of foundation of the Iserlohn-based company Stephan Witte & Comp., which is the parent company of the KIRCHHOFF Group.

Already 5,355 trees have been planted in Iserlohn (November 07), Osterholz-Scharmbeck (November 14) and now Attendorn (November 21). Further plantings will follow on November 28 in Mainz and 2021 at locations in Poland, France, Italy, Hungary, Portugal and Romania.
