Manchester is the county seat of Coffee County, Tennessee, USA. The 2013 census recorded the number of inhabitants as 10,300. The city is situated on the I24, halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga.

Coffee County was formed from parts of Franklin, Bedford, and Warren counties on January 8th 1836. It was named after General John Coffee, who successfully fought in the Anglo-American War of 1812 on the side of Andrew Jackson, the future President of the United States.

Coffee County is also the home of the USAF Arnold Engineering Development Complex. The center offers test facilities for the development of turbojets, ramjets, and turboprops as well as complete missiles, aircraft, and rockets.

Middle Tennessee boasts a moderate climate and excellent road infrastructure. Both of these factors make the region attractive to those looking for work, even for those who live far away. One of the key events in Coffee County is the annual Bonnaroo Music Festival. During the event, the population grows to nearly 100,000 people, most of whom roam the area looking for somewhere to pitch their tent and listen to the diverse musical acts. Not only does Manchester become Tennessee’s largest city during this time, but the music and arts festival also has a positive economic impact on Coffee County and the surrounding regions.
