Development in USA

Van-Rob branched into the USA in 2006 with the founding of Van-Rob Manchester, Tennessee and the takeover of the Lenawee Stamping Corporation in Tecumseh, Michigan. In 2009, an additional production location was built in Waverly, Ohio. For strategic purposes, Sales and Technical Development were relocated from Windsor, Ontario to Troy, Michigan one year later.

In 2011, as a result of the takeover of majority shares in Van-Rob, KIRCHHOFF Automotive became a global player amongst automobile suppliers. In order to simplify the production and logistics processes, and meet the increased demand, two plants in Manchester merged in 2013 to form a significantly larger one. Simultaneously, another production location opened in Dallas, Texas. With its official opening in December 2014, the plant in Lansing, Michigan became the 30th KIRCHHOFF Automotive plant to be commissioned.

In 2016, KIRCHHOFF Automotive took over the remaining shares of the Canadian company Van-Rob Inc. from founder and shareholder Peter van Schaik. The integration into the global company network of KIRCHHOFF Automotive that began in 2011 has since been completed.
