"As an industrial mechanic I am an all-rounder. I take care that the production runs smoothly and that the machinery and all the other equipment are always ready for use. I set up the machines and control their function. We are also responsible for the briefing of the machine operators.

If it happens in production that something does not run as scheduled, I will look for the reason of a downtime. Then I order suitable spare parts or I produce them on my own in order to repair the machine as quickly as possible.
In my apprenticeship the most important thing is the sure instinct for metal. Filing, milling, spinning – this must be perfect, an absolute must! Because often it depends on tenth or hundredth millimeters, and then it is very helpful to obtain 100%."
