About the plant
KIRCHHOFF Automotive Puebla produces complex welded assemblies for VW’s rear seat backs. The necessary sheet metal parts are punched in the Querétaro plant, and are then joined in Puebla using state-of-the-art laser and MIG welding facilities, in addition to resistance welding technology. The parts are then delivered to the customer “just in time”. Moreover, KIRCHHOFF Automotive Puebla specializes in the production of dashboard supports.
Due to extensive new customer projects, the production area of the Puebla site was expanded by more than 9,000 square meters in 2023 with the rental of a nearby hall. The two KIRCHHOFF Automotive plants in Puebla specialize in the production of cross car beams and structural body parts such as floor assemblies, wheel houses and BIW components. Various joining technologies are used, such as MIG welding, resistance spot welding, projection welding and laser welding. All systems and machines are arranged according to our lean standards, which guarantee an optimal production process.

"According to legend, Puebla was founded by angels in 1532 so that mortals could enjoy their lives in the town. This legend led to Puebla becoming known as the City of Angels. Surrounded by the picturesque volcanoes of Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl, the town offers a great deal in terms of art and culture, as well as a wealth of tradition. Puebla is internationally known for its many monuments of Spanish colonial architecture. A large number of its buildings are covered in the beautiful Talavera tiles. In particular, Puebla Cathedral and the Rosary Chapel—“the eighth wonder of the New World”—are well worth visiting. The Palafoxiana Library was the continent’s first public library, holding over 43,000 works.
But Puebla is about more than just the history of Mexico. It is also a modern city. For example, it is home to the largest transportable Ferris wheel in Latin America, known as the Star of Puebla and one of the most-visited tourist attractions in the city.
Puebla’s extraordinary cuisine, with its unique dishes, is extremely popular with visitors. The most famous local dish is “mole poblano”: chillies in a walnut sauce. In Puebla there is a “Sweet Street” where you can try all kinds of sweet treats and typical delicacies such as traditional sweet potatoes, sweet butter pastries, waffles with honey, pepitorias, sandwich biscuits, pumpkin seeds, and doughnuts.
