From a single part to the body-in-white structure

Ever since cars have existed, we have been developing, producing, and supplying metal parts—and, for the vehicles of today, hybrid structures—for the automotive industry. From a manufacturer of individual parts, we have grown into an internationally recognized development supplier of components and body-in-white structures.

KIRCHHOFF Automotive provides vehicles worldwide with extra stability and safety.
But we also offer our customers much more than that: we make a considerable contribution to the growth of their competitiveness.

The crucial cost and logistical advantages of our streamlined, medium-sized company structure with international presence serves a single purpose: to drive the market success of our customers and safeguard our innovative strength and earning power. This is our pledge worldwide.

New CES@CDB Viewer Online Training

An online CES@CDB Viewer course is now available. This training covers the fundamentals of the CES@CDB system, including how to access calculations, identify the most relevant one, navigate the different sheets to extract data, explore the product structure, and more.

What is CES@CDB?

CES@CDB stands for Cost Estimation System embedded in CDB. It is a tool used to manage, view, and analyze cost estimation data for parts, manufacturing processes, and engineering changes within our centralized PLM system CIM Database (CDB).

Who is the target audience for this training?

The CES@CDB Viewer Training is intended for users who need to view and extract cost data without altering the original cost sheets.

Why is this training important?

This training equips users with the knowledge and skills to navigate the CES@CDB system effectively, ensuring they can access accurate cost data, identify the most relevant calculations, and extract key information. It supports better decision-making across engineering, finance, and program management by promoting consistent understanding of cost structures, improving data interpretation, and reducing the risk of errors.

How long is the training?

30-40 minutes

What if I don't have access to cost estimations?

If you are unable to see cost estimation objects in CDB, please submit an IT ticket. Access will be granted if there is a justified need and after approval from your direct manager.

How to access the training:

  1. Direct Link: CES@CDB Viewer Online Training
  2. Using KNET > K>People > Learner Home > Type in ”General CDB Trainings” > Here, you will find the task manager training, CDB refresher training (basic + advanced) and the new CES@CDB viewer training. Click the (>) Start elearning button to launch any of the trainings.
  3. Using Orange: Click the Orange icon in the task bar > search for "CES@CDB viewer training" > select “CES@CDB viewer training” in the Self-learning units.
