Your Tasks
- Provide support for Plant Controller & Production team in assessing and improving company operational control & performance. Acts as a catalyst in the continuous improvement of operational process and internal control.
- Complete assigned tasks and month-end activities timely and accurately.
- Maintain Standard Cost, update frozen, current cost sets; scrutinize BOM, routing, work center labour rate and work center burden rate. Coordinate with Engineering, Material team to ensure Standard Cost accuracy.
- Update weekly snapshot report and perform detailed analysis on key Material consumption variances, such as PPV, cycle count & scrap.
- Proactively identify risks & opportunities, following up with Plant management team and ensure process and/or procedure updates are completed when applicable.
- Work with Plant Production team to ensure inventory data accuracy and perform inventory analysis to identify risks and opportunities. Reconcile perpetual, physical & accounting inventory at each month-end.
- Perform Gross margin and Labour Variance analysis. Highlight issues and communicate with Production Area managers & Plant Controller.
- Perform cost & benefit financial analysis on engineering changes, identify open commercial issues.
- Track all plants open commercial issues, coordinate with Sales team and Plant team to facilitate resolution.
- Actively participate in Budget & Forecasting Activities
- Address ad-hoc requests as required & any other reasonable requests made by management.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
Your Profile
Work Experience
- 4-10 years work experience with Standard Costing in a Manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Standard Costing & ERP system, with Budgeting experience
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint skills
- Being proficient in SAP is valuable asset
- Sound understanding of accounting/auditing principles, tax legislation, etc.
- Sound understanding of provincial legislation affecting workplace, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Labour Relations Laws, etc. Skills
- Employ strong teamwork skills to work with, coach and direct other team members
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective use of problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to manage conflict and confrontation in a positive, constructive manner
- Effectively manages multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to assess strengths, weaknesses and degrees of risk in plans and actions
- Strong hardworking attitude & high commitment to the company Education
- University Degree, CPA Designation and/or equivalent related work experience
