Globally connected – working and traveling

After his apprenticeship, Leonard Scholz from Iserlohn serves internships in several KIRCHHOFF Automotive plants.

“The KIRCHHOFF Automotive network with its many plants worldwide is ideal for me and my plans“, says Leonard Scholz. In January, he finished his apprenticeship as industrial mechanic – manufacturing engineering in Iserlohn, Germany, and has now started an eight-month stay abroad – to start with an internship at our Suzhou plant. He will stay here for two months and come to know better the departments quality, logistics, utilities construction, and material flow.

“Immediately, I was accepted very cordially and could feel great care for my well-being. Step by step I now get an insight into the first stages of my internship, i. e. quality management”, Leonard Scholz rejoices. Although the first days were quite fascinating and exciting for him, they also mean a lot of endeavor: “The climate and time change as well as the many impressions make me fall asleep very quickly at night.”

Already during his school days Leonard Scholz dreamt about going abroad and getting to know the world. “However, I decided to do an apprenticeship before. This serves as a foundation and I can always draw on it.”

His stay abroad should be a good mixture of traveling and internships. After the two months in China, Leonard Scholz will travel to Canada, via Bangkok and Singapore. As a conclusion of his big trip he has planned an internship in our plant in Puebla, Mexico. After his return to Germany he would like to start a degree course in engineering economics.
