On 21 April, Dr. Jochen F. Kirchhoff celebrated his 90. birthday
Dr. Jochen F. Kirchhoff is a family entrepreneur with passion. Also at the age of 90 he is in the office every day; and although he has passed all management positions to his sons he further on contributes to the development of the family enterprise: “For me, it’s the most exciting task I can imagine: solving tasks together with the family, independently and on my own responsibility, and setting goals to manage the company long-term and successfully. Thereby, I feel passion and joy to work with the people in the company and beyond that also for the society in the region.”
From 1968 to 1992 he led the former company Stephan Witte, that KIRCHHOFF Automotive arose from, as manager and owner. In those days he took over the company Kutsch in Attendorn in 1984, and thus laid the foundation for the today biggest business unit of the enterprise, the production of steel and hybrid parts for passenger cars. Three years before he had put the big press shop in the development area at the periphery of Iserlohn into operation. Both plants were the basis for the international growth of the global player with today 30 plants in 11 countries. From 1993 to 2006 Dr. Jochen F. Kirchhoff was chairman of the KIRCHHOFF Group management whose advisory board he presided from 2007 to 2017.
Besides his work as entrepreneur he took over numerous honorary positions. Thus he led the North Rhine Westphalian employer organisations as a president for more than 21 years. Many times he was awarded for his social commitment, among others with the Great Cross of Merit with Star of the Federal Republic of Germany.
